Rigging Inspector Certification
Rigging Inspector
Training Course & Assessment of Competence Overview
A certified Rigging Inspector will receive the required training and knowledge to be a “designated person” who can conduct the required periodic inspection of rigging slings, hardware, spreader bars and lifting beams. WorkSafe BC references the ASME standard for rigging which requires a complete inspection for damage of all rigging that “shall be periodically performed by a designated person. Periodic inspection intervals shall not exceed 1 year.”
Location & Cost:
We train at your site. The maximum class size is 10 participants and the total cost is $14,600.
Duration:
Course Length: 4 days (for groups of up to 5 participants).
Please note: For groups of 6 or more participants, an additional day is required to complete all individual assessments (total of 5 days).
Certification:
The course involves extensive hands-on and theory content. Both the Level 1 Rigger and Rigging Inspector certificates of competence are valid for 5 years and can be renewed by completing an online refresher course for $200 for each certificate.
Who would benefit from this course:
Anyone who is responsible for the management of rigging equipment, work site safety or anyone responsible for regulatory compliance.
