Lee Middleton

Lee has worked in the area of human competence certification with an emphasis on skilled trades for over 20 years. Lee established Fulford Certification with Chris Bywater in 2004 and has been involved in the development of a variety of certification systems in British Columbia including crane operator and concrete pump operator. 

Chris Bywater

Chris has over 30 years experience in the areas of labour market analysis and industrial training and certification systems. Chris has worked on industry training projects for 3 national Sector Councils and developed trade certification programs for crane operators and riggers.


Randy Grisewood
Technical Director & Assessor

Randy has over 30 years experience as a crane operator and trainer across a wide range of marine and land based projects.  Randy’s unique depth of hoisting knowledge and expertise allows Fulford to offer practical solutions to our clients technical and assessment needs. 

Gord Jacobs

With over twenty-eight years experience as a crane operator on major construction projects, bridge works and pipelines, Gord has a wealth of experience.  Since becoming an Assessor for Fulford in 2010, Gord has applied that experience to the high quality delivery of hundreds of crane assessments. 

Rand Walker

Rand brings 30 years experience as a crane operator on major projects including the Vancouver Convention Centre,  Lions Gate Bridge seismic up-grade and Vancouver Island Power Line Crossing.  As an assessor with Fulford for over ten years, Rand has delivered hundreds of assessments in industries and locations across western Canada.

John Simpson

John joined Fulford’s assessor team in 2019 after 25+ years as a crane operator.  John worked on numerous large scale projects including the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline and Roberts Bank Port Expansion.  John’s industry experience gives him a depth of knowledge that he brings to his assessment delivery for Fulford.

Karen Grisewood
Scheduling Coordinator

Karen manages the scheduling of all of Fulford’s assessment and training services for our clients. Whether you are a crane operator looking to arrange your practical assessment or a company organizing the delivery of rigging, overhead crane or pedestal mount crane training, Karen will work with you to make that happen.

Willo Chamberlin
Accounts Coordinator

Willo is responsible for all company billing, accounts receivable and responding to questions regarding financial transactions. Willo is happy to help you with any of your financial questions, as well as more broad questions to do with crane certification.

Hector Guevara
Certification Coordinator

As Fulford’s Certification Coordinator, Hector is responsible for documenting all of Fulford’s assessment results and issuing certifications to our clients. Hector focuses on prompt and friendly customer service, and is happy to help you with any enquiries you have about your certificate or your exam results.

Fern Guevara
Administration Coordinator

As our Administration Coordinator, Fern receives and manages all applications for Fulford’s certification and assessment services, and enrols clients in our on-line exams. Fern is happy to help you with any enquiries you have regarding the application process.

Special Projects

Susanna Kong
Technical Writer / Designer

Susanna has been applying her engineering background with Fulford since 2004, working on a variety of projects including CraneSafe Certification and the Concrete Pump Operator Assessment program. Susanna has also designed Fulford’s print materials including crane reference documents, exams, forms and logbooks as well as numerous other research, design and writing projects.

Craig McIntosh
Concrete Pump Technical Advisor

Craig has worked with Fulford and the Concrete Pump Industry since 2015 and was instrumental in the design of the Concrete Pump Operator Certification Program now overseen by the BC Construction Safety Alliance.  Craig consults with Fulford to create technical resources for the industry to conduct safer and more reliable concrete pumping operations with a focus on high rise / high pressure concrete pumping.
