Practical Assessment
The practical assessments for Alberta’s Apprenticeship program for Wellhead Boom Truck, Boom Truck, Mobile Crane and Tower Crane Operator trade qualifications are delivered by Fulford Certification. Fulford’s procedure is designed to make the assessment process easier by conducting the assessment at your worksite on the crane you are familiar with.
Once you have successfully completed your theory test and have paid the required Practical Assessment fee to Alberta Apprenticeship, you will need to complete a request form with Fulford so we can schedule your assessment.
Program Information
Practical Assessment Overview
The Assessment has three main sections:
1. Hand Signals (100 points)
2. Pre-Operational Inspection & Rigging (100 points)
3. Machine Set-Up & Operation (100 points)
You must achieve a score of at least 70% on each section. The assessment takes between 2 and 2 ½ hours to complete.
